«То-то-то» — гэта, па праўдзе, тая самая песьня, што і «Купала». Літаральна тая самая: адзін і тый жа тэкст, адныя і тыя ж промпты стылю і тэксту — літара ў літару. Проста так склалася, што дзьве розныя генерацыі загучалі даволі па-рознаму, і з доўгага сьпісу варыянтаў я зноў вырашыў пакінуць два.

Калі ў «Купале» пераважаюць традыцыйны харавы сьпеў і жорсткі дабстэп, то тут галоўную ролю бярэ поп-вакал — хоць і з добрай доляй хору, — а музыка мякчэйшая і бліжэйшая да традыцыйнага гучаньня: у прыпеве нават зьяўляецца дудка. Назву доўга шукаць не давялося — яе падказаў сам прыпеў.

Аднолькавы промпт зусім не гарантуе аднолькавага выніку — і ў гэтым, як ні дзіўна, ёсьць нешта вельмі фальклёрнае. Народная песьня ніколі ня мела адзінай кананічнай вэрсіі: у кожнай вёсцы, у кожным гурце яна жыла сваім варыянтам. Дык чаму б ёй і ў Setivir'а не існаваць у двух? 😊

Description

Truth be told, "To-to-to" is the very same song as "Kupala". Literally the same: the same lyrics, the same prompts for style and text — letter for letter. It just so happened that two different generations came out sounding quite different, and out of a long list of variants I once again decided to keep two.

While "Kupala" is dominated by traditional choral singing and hard dubstep, here the lead is taken by a pop vocal — though still with a good share of the choir — and the music is softer and closer to a traditional sound: the chorus even features a dudka, a traditional Belarusian folk pipe. As for the title, I didn't have to search long — the song's own refrain offered it up: "to-to-to" is the chant that answers almost every line.

An identical prompt is no guarantee of an identical result — and, oddly enough, there is something very folkloric about that. A folk song never had a single canonical version: in every village, in every singing circle, it lived in a variant of its own. So why shouldn't it live in two versions here in Setivir as well? 😊
